Vardy has scored 24 goals this season and is in contention to win the Golden Boot heading into the final weekend. Vardy also secured the FWA Football Writers' Footballer of the Year Award for the 2015-16 season.
Vardy to West Ham?
You've heard the story both yesterday and today, but the rumors continue to mount. This is definitely making Leicester fans nervous, seeing as their star striker could be wearing claret and blue next season. But Vardy has reiterated that his focus is on Leicester and defending the title next season.
"We have just won the league and we are in the Champions League next season," Vardy told the Leicester Mercury. "You can see that all the lads are happy at Leicester. I am concentrating solely on Leicester."
The Hammers are still expected to offer the 20 million euro bid for Vardy, and hopefully Leicester shoots it down. But for now, we wait and speculate.
If Vardy stays put (which he most likely will), West Ham will seek to acquire out-of-favor Christian Benteke from Liverpool. West Ham's transfer wishlist for the summer also includes the likes of Southampton's Sadio Mane, Lyon's Alexander Lacazette, and Marseille's Michy Batshuayi.
If Vardy does go to West Ham, Leicester have been linked with moves for Benteke, Radamel Falcao, Seydou Doumbia, and Vincent Aboubakar. There is also a solid foundation with Leo Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki that could help replace Vardy if he leaves.
Possible Absence for Vardy at the Community Shield
Back in September during a match against Aston Villa, Vardy broke his wrist. Although he has continued to play through the ailment and has worn a protective cast ever since, the injury hasn't healed properly and Vardy will need surgery to fix it.
Vardy has worn this protective cast on his right wrist since his injury.
Following Vardy's foray at the Euros, which could last until July 10, the striker will undergo a surgical procedure on his right wrist. Manager Claudio Ranieri is hopeful Vardy will be ready in time for the Community Shield match in early August against the winner of the FA Cup Final between Crystal Palace or Manchester United.
Vardy's old car is up for sale
Yes, you read that right! You can buy Jamie Vardy's Mercedes Benz C-Class 6.3 for the low, low price of 38,500 pounds. This deal includes a bag of Walkers' Salt and Vardy crisps as well. Just for fun...here's the link on AutoTrader.
The car is a 2013 model and comes in polar white. Vardy' former ride is in pretty grand condition considering the car has had two owners in its short lifespan.
