Leicester City hit a roadblock in the form of a clinical Chelsea side last Saturday and now have to travel to St. Mary’s Stadium to face a Southampton side who have also had their fair share of recent struggles in the Premier League.
Location: St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton, England
Kick-off time: 12:00 PM GMT, 7:00 AM Eastern, 4:00 AM Pacific
The Foxes have one win in their last six matches since thumping Manchester City 4-2 while the Saints have failed to pick up a point in their previous four. Southampton manager Claude Puel’s men sit three points and two spots above Leicester at 13th in the table.
Both clubs however had success in the FA Cup Third Round but Southampton needed a replay to finish off Norwich City this past Wednesday. A midweek match for the Saints plays as a slight advantage for the Foxes, who avoided the task with 2-1 win away to Everton on January 7. Leicester are still in search of their first Premier League away win of the season.

The Foxes will once again be without striker Islam Slimani and midfielder Riyad Mahrez who are running into some trouble of their own at the Africa Cup of Nations after an opening draw with Zimbabwe and a 2-1 loss to Tunisia. Daniel Amartey is away at AFCON as well with Ghana, setting up another potential appearance for new signing Wilfred Ndidi in the midfield for Leicester.
Slimani is Leicester’s joint leading scorer with Jamie Vardy, but Southampton will also be without their top scorer Charlie Austin who is out long term with a shoulder injury. Virgil Van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand were not risked in the FA Cup on Wednesday and should be available this Sunday.
