Leicester City 8th (7-6-8) vs Huddersfield Town 11th (6-6-9)
Monday 10:00 AM ET, Live at the King Power stadium on NBC’s Sports Gold app
The roller coaster that was 2017 for Leicester City is finally over and the Foxes can start the new year fresh at home against Huddersfield. Somehow, Leicester still find themselves in 8th place after a rocky holiday fixture list and Europe is still in reach, so let’s make 2018 the year of the fox.
The Competition
After a flying start to their first season in the Premier League, the magic dust has settled and the reality of the difficulty of the league has set in. Huddersfield have drawn three out of their last five matches. Their one win in that spell was a 4-1 shellacking at Watford.

The Foxes
The new year is technically the year of the dog, so I’m taking that as on omen for what’s coming next for Leicester City. Especially since our ranks are immediately bolstered with the addition of Adrien Silva after FIFA claimed his transfer was 14 seconds late.

Adrien Silva HAS to start on Monday. He has to. The poor guy’s been through way too much not to earn a start. He could score two own goals and I don’t even think we could be mad. Okay, we’d be a little mad, but he may be a little rusty so have a large sup from a beverage and simmer down now.
The Prediction
We could very well be in for a 1-1 draw or another 2-1 loss. Last time out we had to scrap for a 1-1 draw and left it in the second half. If Leicester can get their passing game together, and an Adrien Silva hat-trick (which I couldn’t find odds for, but Ahmed Musa is 250/1 so I bet it’s around there) we could be on our way to a great 2018.
