Italian legend Gigi Buffon is scared of Leicester City

First of all, let me just say that this man, one Gianluigi Buffon is an absolute, bonafide legend.

His mustache in the main image and below (both taken in December; chosen to prove a point) is cooler than I will ever be at any point in my life. And it’s not even close. Just look at it. Zoom your screen in. It’s worth it, trust me.

The reason we’re using Gigi on this site that covers Leicester City Football club is simple: the man has stated publicly that he, of all people, fears the Foxes.

Yes, you read that right. With the draw for the quarterfinals of the Champions League this Friday and both Leicester and Juventus advancing to that stage, the 39-year-old shot-stopping luminary has pin-pointed little old Leicester as the club he most wants to avoid.

Look, there is a quote:

"Who do I prefer not to play? Leicester. They are a dangerous and passionate team who can cause trouble for opponents who take the initiative. We would have everything to lose."

Well what do you know. He is as smart as he looks.

Leicester, as we all know, advanced past Sevilla in stunning fashion on Tuesday, beating the Spanish side 2-0 (3-2 on aggregate) with goals from Wes Morgan and Marc Albrighton. I feel like I need to repeat that last bit: Wes Morgan and Marc Albrighton scored in the UEFA Champions League.

The Italian champions Juventus needed slightly less drama to dispatch of Porto 3-0 on aggregate...but that doesn’t mean they’re a lock to advance beyond the quarterfinals. Particularly if they have to play our boys in blue...at least according to Gigi.

Look for extensive coverage of Leicester’s final 8 opponent following the draw this Friday at 12pm CET at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
