Two of Leicester City’s least used squad members, back up goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler and young winger Bartosz Kapustka look set to leave the club this summer for Germany, just one year after both arrived.
Zieler, who had complained about his lack of playing time after a free transfer from Hannover, has already been announced as a new permanent signing by VfB Stuttgart. He’s signed a three year deal after the clubs agreed a fee of £3.5m. The Foxes have been linked with a number of possible keepers this summer, most strongly with Hull City’s Eldin Jakupovic.
Poland international Kapustka, just 20, arrived with much excitement after a £2m move last summer, but struggled to even make the bench, let alone push for regular playing time. In an attempt to give the youngster the time on the pitch he needs to develop, the Foxes have agreed to allow him to join Freiburg on loan for the year.
Hopefully he will have better luck in Germany and will return to us ready to play more regularly.
