Happy Friday, Fosse Posse readers! We hope you’re having a lovely week and are ready for an even better weekend.
As I was doing my normal perusal of the interwebs this morning, I came across this tweet from the official Leicester City Football Club Twitter handle:
"I feel honoured."
— Leicester City (@LCFC) July 7, 2017
Michael Appleton discusses his exciting new role as #lcfc's assistant manager https://t.co/lgKSWOqKfv pic.twitter.com/qLR7N4x0jE
Well then.
Not quite what I was expecting from the buttoned-up sideline attire we saw Mr. Appleton adorned in previously. He’s a sight to behold.
He’s also a good quote, as the link goes on to tell us.
“I am very excited, obviously,” Appleton said to LCFC TV. “It came around very quickly. The opportunity to come and work in the Premier League and at a club that very recently was champions of England, and only last season was competing in the Champions League was a big pull.
“It is an achievement that did wonders for the game and for the Premier League. Obviously expectations come with that type of achievement.”
That’s right they do, Michael. And if the expectations aren’t reached, you can just beat up or scare the living bejesus out of those who set them.
Glad he’s on our side, anyway.
