In a last-minute deal - one that required an extension of the transfer deadline - Danny Drinkwater has been sold to Chelsea for a club-record fee believed to be around £35m.

Before providing more details I’d like to point out that Chelsea seems to be under the impression that his nickname is “Drinks.” It is not. HIS NICKNAME IS DRINKY.
Now that that’s out of the way we can continue.
Drinky will be reunited with N’Golo Kanté, who he partnered with in 2015/16 to accomplish the impossible.
The 27-year-old English midfielder has been with the Foxes since 2012 and has been instrumental to the club’s meteoric rise. His contributions to the title-winning side cannot be understated.
Leicester’s official website provided a statement of thanks to the player for his years of service to the club.
“Leicester City wishes to express its gratitude to Danny for his contribution to the team’s achievements over the past five years, as he leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the Football Club.”
We at Fosse Posse would like to echo this statement. Drinky has always been a fan-favorite and his presence will be sorely missed.
We’ll miss you Drinky, thank you for everything you’ve done!
