Leicester City had a much better opening day than Chelsea as the Foxes rode their luck against Wolves, and Manchester United rode a more fortunate luck against the Blues.
Leicester
It was an opening day to forget for the Foxes and it honestly could’ve been worse had Diogo Jota figured out what sport he was playing. Leicester had limited chances to make it an opening day win, but Wolves had the middle of the field packed like a stuffed crust pizza making hard to do much of anything.

Çağlar Söyüncü, AKA Slabchin, was my personal favorite of the day. His recovery speed was more inconceivable than defeating a Sicilian when death is on the line. He was cooler than Cool Hand Luke and is 5/1 to be the next Bond.
Chelsea
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea have not had the best of starts. An away day 4-0 defeat to United, followed by a blown lead in the UEFA Super Cup and a penalty shootout loss after extra time. I’m sure Frank knew it was a strong possibility he’d lose the first two opening matches, but how long will it take for the crowd to go sour if they’re down by two at halftime on Sunday?

Match Prediction
While I am thankful a lot of people think Leicester will rightfully challenge for the top 6, there is no better place to prove that point than an away win at Chelsea. Chelsea will be looking to make a statement at the new era at Stamford Bridge, and I think as long as Brendan Rodgers doesn’t go uber defensive, Leicester can ruin their home opener. 3-2 to the Foxes is my prediction!
