Another good FA Cup draw for Leicester City

Just our 2nd home draw of the year

After a solid, if not entirely comfortable, 1-0 win over Brentford at the weekend, Leicester City are into the FA Cup 5th round, where they have been drawn at home to either Coventry City or Birmingham City.

The two ground sharing sides drew at the weekend, and will decide our opponent in a replay scheduled for 4th February.

Regardless of who wins, it should be another comfortable fixture for the Foxes, with neither side on the level of Brentford this year.

The fifth round ties are set to be played on Wednesday 4th March. On paper it’s a good week for it, with the Foxes scheduled to play Norwich on the previous Friday, and not again until Aston Villa on the following Monday.

However, there is the small matter of the Carabao Cup, as well. The final is scheduled for Sunday 1st March, so games will be rescheduled if we can make it past Aston Villa tomorrow.

A win would put the Foxes into the quarterfinal, equalling the furthest they’ve made it in the competition since 1982.

They last reached that far just two years ago, before being knocked out by eventual winners Chelsea.
