Predicting the Leicester City lineup vs Brighton

Stick or twist?

This is meant as a prediction of what Brendan Rodgers will do, not the team I would pick, and a dark part of me can’t shake the feeling that he’ll revert back to Marc Albrighton and the back 5 for a league game.

But after those Europa League performances, he can’t drop Barnes of Ünder, and why rest Maddison if not to play him? I’m going back to 4-3-3.

RB: James Justin - Castagne and Ricardo are still a little way off after their setbacks.

CB: Jonny Evans - looked good in his first chance as captain on Thursday.

CB: Wesley Fofana - somehow already an integral part of the team.

LB: Luke Thomas - this is more of a plea and could well be Fuchs. If it’s a back 5 JJ and Albrighton will probably be the wingbacks.

DM: Wilfred Ndidi - AEK got a nice display of why Mendy immediately drops out.

CM: Youri Tielemans - looks to have found his ideal role, especially next to Wilf.

CM: James Maddison - should have all kinds of freedom with those 2 behind him.

RW: Cengiz Ünder - If we’re back to a back 5, the wingers would be the 2 AMs, but they played so well in this shape, why change it?

LM: Harvey Barnes - this is why I wanted to keep Luke Thomas in. They looked great together.

ST: Jamie Vardy - Jamie Vardy.

Fantasy Impact

I predicted a clean sheet against Sheffield United and forgot about set pieces. Brighton are one of the few teams who’ve looked nearly as bad as us and haven’t scored from a free kick or corner yet. Any Leicester City defender is a good bet for a clean sheet this time
