Competitive football is back!

Who’s ready for the most competitive Leicester City action since the 4th of March, 2020?!

“But wait, we played Aston Villa on March 9th, 2020!” some of you are probably saying, and to that I say: exactly!

The ePremier League Invitational is a league wide competitive single knockout tournament on the PS4 and is played by 18 PL players and 2 celebrity club representatives. Arsenal and Manchester United were the two clubs that opted to have celebs rep their favorite clubs, but I imagine many club players were champing at the bit to get a chance to show off their FIFA 20 skills. Originally James Justin was selected as the Fox to pay tribute, but had to back out for reasons unknown, so Wilfred Ndidi got the call up!

How does it work?

It is a single elimination tournament with a draw that was held on April 20th where 8 teams had to win their opportunity to play in the round of 16. Each team has 85 overall rated players across the board to even the playing field, and should the match be tied at full time, it goes to Golden Goal.

The first 4 matches were held on Monday with the results below.

The last of 16 then started on the 22nd and below are those results.

Which finally sets the stage for Wilf to bring us home the cup on the 23rd!

Last 16 fixtures

23 April (from 12:00 BST)

Diogo Jota (WOL) v Wilfred Ndidi (LEI)
Todd Cantwell (NOR) v Lys Mousset (SHU)
Neal Maupay (BHA) v Philip Billing (BOU)
Josh Franceschi (ARS) v Dwight McNeil (BUR)

Jota, Cantwell, and Billing have all been “touted” by the “pundits” to be the favorites, but if you follow Wilf on Snapchat, he’s a fellow FIFA baller as well. Wilf’s match will get underway sometime around 7 AM ET / 12:00 BST but they do have a quiz before each match as well as some build up punditry. You can watch the games several different ways, either on Twitter, Youtube, Sky Sports or the NBC Sports app. Who knows when the real game will be back, but now we finally have something to cheer about! So let’s all get behind Wilf, get our jerseys on, get our mugs out, & scarf up for the Foxes once more to ePremier League glory!
