Leicester City look at Patson Adama as a long term replacement for Jamie Vardy

The 22 year old Zambian International scored 29 goals in 36 games last season for RB Salzburg alerting Leicester City but also the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers has expressed his interest in signing a speedy frontman and a replacement for Jamie Vardy, and Patson Daka perfectly fits those scouting instructions, according to The Mirror.

The RB Salzburg player could be available for as little as £17million, says the report.

That price tag will appeal for several reasons, including the potential for the player to have a huge resale value in years to come – something City have enjoyed in the past when selling the likes of Harry Maguire, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante for huge profits on their initial investment.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the Zambian international, who is said to be open to a move to England.

Kelechi Iheanacho had his best season in front of goal for Leicester last season as well, scoring 19 goals.

But Rodgers still has to find someone to spearhead his team post-Vardy, and there is a belief at the club that Daka could be that man.

Former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson, meanwhile, is also keen to work with the 29-year-old again after managing the classy midfielder at the East Midlands club between 2012-15, and is reported to have made the player a summer priority to strengthen the spine of his team at Bristol City.
