However, clubs like Arsenal and Aston Villa have also seen the french U-21 as a potential target but no serious moves have been made by them, which has led to a sense of frustation among supporters, leaving City the only favorites to land him at the King Power Stadium.
According to a report from The Times, The deal is expected to be sanctioned as soon as Celtic confirm their new manager. They are waiting on approval from Uefa to appoint Ange Postecoglou, having agreed compensation with Yokohama F Marinos, his present club. The Australian does not possess European coaching qualifications, so must apply for an exemption based on his experience.
Edouard is expected to provide support to the attacking duo of Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho, while the frenchman is also looking forward to the reunion with his former Manager.
Edouard has reached the final year of his contract with the Scottish giants so Leicester will be securing his services at a reduced fee of around £15m.
The 23-year-old scored 16 goals in 26 Scottish Premiership appearances in the season just gone and has scored a total of 83 goals in 168 appearances for Celtic.
Meanwhile, a deal to sign Boubakery Soumare from Lille is “done and confirmed”, according to transfer specialist Romano.
