Leicester City’s board have proposed a redevelopment of the stadium along with developing the surrounding areas which will boost Leicestershire’s economy and are expected to create at least 1000 permanent jobs and also make Leicester a 365 day tourist vacation spot.

The club said in a statement: “The developments will further underline Leicestershire’s reputation as a home of world-class sport and create a 365-day destination that will support the regeneration of an area that has been the home of the football club for 130 years.
“The feedback obtained from the public consultation with the local community, local businesses, supporters and key stakeholders, will help inform decision-making as the plans evolve, in order to deliver a major events destination that can support the club’s continued growth and become a major asset to the city of Leicester.”
The Plans will include proposals for -
- Addition of 8000 seats in the East Stand which will take the total capacity of the stadium to 40000
- A 220 room hotel to be set up for tourist accommodation.
- A Multipurpose event centre
- Entertainment area
- A residential and commercial space
- Multi- storey car parking facility
