James Maddison has found a new home in North London. The attacking midfielder completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £40m fee. Maddison signed a five year deal tying him to the club until the end of the 2028 season.
The fan favorite scored 55 goals and provided 41 assists during his five years with the Foxes. Undoubtedly the highlight of his time at the club was winning FA Cup in 2021, where he featured as a substitute. The former number ten broke his silence and took to Twitter to wish Leicester fans a heartfelt farewell before traveling to London to complete the move.
Leicester City Family, 5 seasons & 203 appearances later my journey as a fox has come to an end. From the bottom of my heart thankyou for everything. I felt proud to pull on that number 10 shirt every single time. An emotional & heartfelt goodbye. Love from Madders pic.twitter.com/CHpvrqUMtY

Despite the fee, it will be incredibly difficult to replace Maddison, who was easily the club’s best player over the past two seasons. He has led the club in shots, chances created, and assists in the Premier League since he arrived. Leicester have until September 1st to complete loan and transfer moves for their upcoming EFL Championship Season.
